Transubstantiation
I never believed in transubstantiation. Never ever. Not even as a wee grrl going to church with my mum. Not even after she explained the whole thing to me. I only ever thought of it as symbolic. To me, the symbolism of the act, not the veracity of its occurrence, made the difference in our worship. That is how I received the message. I can’t honestly tell you if my mother actually believes that the water + wine transform into the blood of Christ and some weird looking wafer becomes the body of Christ after some cleric in a fancy embroidered dress and stole recites some incantations over them as he does some weird hand movements and some fancy sh1t with a fancy piece of linen. I’m fairly certain my dad never bought that sh1t sandwich, and he would never say either because that’s the kind of man he was—one of action and value and not fixate on petty irrelevant points of catechistic doctrine. Presbyterians schooled him in Guyana, and so his grasp of Christianity is completely different than my mum’s. Catholics learn dogma/rules and not the bible or it’s underlying values—Catholicism places so much between the individual and God, God seems like a detail added, like the gleam in the eye of a portrait.
We never talked about transubstantiation. We simply went through the motions, mostly because it pleased my mum and someone told us that’s what you do. Faith meant do things unquestioningly, that’s what those men in embroidered frocks preached anyhow. I’m betting many Catholics practise similarly, and no one thinks to ask what is the point of going through the motions and doing a thing you don’t really believe is real to please others doing it beside you who maybe don’t believe it’s real either. Yet, technically speaking, it’s a real thing, one of the major factors separating Protestantism from Catholicism. To challenge or question transubstantiation amounted to heresy historically in Catholic history. Anyone who dared challenge the sacred truth of transubstantiation received severe brutal punishment.
Transgenderism as a Neo-Transubstantiation
Does that ring any bells?
I mean, doesn’t transgenderism seem like a sacred cow which we cannot question, criticise, challenge in any way without the Woka Haram, the Torquemada Brigade, the Rainbow Gestapo, or whatever we are calling them this week, branding us with the mark of Beelzebub or burning us at the stake or placing us on torture racks until we collapse and capitulate into a grovelling pathetic apology that sounds like a lame confessional prayer? Forgive me father for I have sinned. It’s been a week since my last confession…
Having grown up in a religious enclave around deeply spiritual and religious people, and currently existing at the edge of a radical orthodox religious community steeped in collective trauma response identitarianism, I can readily see the religious element to transgenderism. I have written in the past that I laugh to myself when I read or listen to right wing polemicists brag about how the west is advanced because it has embraced rationality and risen above blasphemy rules—our societal response to transgenderism, ie our designation of transgenderism as a divine and questionable right, seems to me like a blasphemy rule. Truth has shifted through deranged discourse, as Foucault wrote about, and now a lie has become truth and it has become blasphemous to say so. Note to Foucault haters, he observed the notion of a shifting truth as a trend in history, he did not say that that’s how it ought to be or that he believed it was that way, he simply observed the relationship between powerful discourse and truth.
Yet material reality tells us that the water + the wine + wafers + a cleric’s blessing does not equal Christ’s body and blood and material reality also tells us that humans are not sequential hermaphrodites—we can’t and don’t change sex—and that feelz about one’s reproductive class don’t override the reality of sexed bodies. So, just like all those Catholics who keep going to mass and standing in line and taking that wafer, not entirely convinced of the whole myth of transubstantiation, everyone in our society does the same thing with transgenderism.
We all know that the individual who won the 1976 Decathlon Olympic medal is a male human. Female Decathletes do not exist—they are Heptathletes. The winner’s feelings about his reproductive class does not retroactively change the sex of winner of the 1976 Olympic Decathlon Gold Medal. Seriously, stop taking the piss. I’m going to believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy before I believe that someone’s feelings changed a historical event that happened 44 years ago. Humans are not sequential hermaphrodites. Submitting oneself to a course of endogenous cross hormones and surgical procedures to make oneself look like the opposite sex, changing one’s name, and getting a whole new wardrobe doesn’t actually make one the opposite sex. Not even if Annie Leibowitz photographs you for Vogue. We all know this for fact. No matter how desperately the individual wants to receive that external validation for passing as the opposite sex, it does not make it fact and it certainly does not justify the abuse and oppression of forcing others to lie in order to provide the validation demanded. I refuse to worship the gender gods.
I remember being forced to lie on threat of painful punishment at the hands of one of my domestic abusers and this woke transgender phenomenon of requiring everyone to lie in order to be allowed to participate in society feels like that DV situation.
So, why do we swallow the lie?
Catholics literally do swallow the lie—like they actually swallow it hehe—to keep their souls in a state of grace, ie pure enough to stay shielded from eternal damnation. Why does our society swallow what is clearly a lie and then invoke the LGB Umbrella Shield when required to explain participation in said lie? Because few are willing to risk the pain of Inquisition by Social Media and the subsequent social isolation and societal excommunication that follows simply for refusing to participate in the collective lie?
I already have a belief system and it does not involve thinking that humans can change their sex or sexual orientation and it does not involve thinking that same sex attracted humans are guilty of any transgression because of their same sex attraction, which is simply a variation of nature like being left handed. I value truth over the perception that others think I am aligned with the rainbow gestapo manifesto or the catechism or sunnah or whatever tribal dogma, so I refuse to participate in the pronoun performance, or the ridiculous lie that men can have babies or that a straight dude who adopts a woman identity is magically a lesbian, or in the persecution of individuals who have a sexual orientation they neither cannot help nor change. Yes, I challenge the bigoted dogmatics within my own faith community because a Sufi will never become a sycophant.
Yet many seem willing to believe and think that participating in the collective lie equals promoting inclusivity or piety. When it comes to genderism, this is simply anti gay/lesbian version 3004, it’s not at all promoting gay rights when we have set up a social religion in which straight people can adopt a stupid invented label and pretend they belong under the LGB Umbrella and they use it as a shield to promote their porn-addled anti gay, anti female, and often racist sentiment from the inside. How disappointing to see that we have not made the gay rights progress we believe. How ghastly to see how hate protection laws can be weaponised to persecute an entire group of innocents. And I shudder for the backlash response to this whole transcult once the lid is blown off and the truth emerges about the lies and abuse and barbaric medical malpractise taking place.
Gatekeeping Manhood
I think feminists have got transgenderism wrong. I think it has far less to do with women than it has to do with gatekeeping manhood to filter feminine males from manhood with a view to reinforcing hyper-masculinity. The manhood rejects get relegated to the woman pile. That’s why the definition of woman changes, why women’s toilets change rooms, services, programs all change to accommodate feminine males or males who reject the demands of manhood. Look at how transgenderist extremists enforce their dogma—with terror and threats of violence. In other words, in a hyper-masculine manner. Rape threats, wishes that female people die in grease fires, by execution squad, whatever other ghastly hateful punishments wokebros can dream up to woke-scold dissident females in particular—this is how the so-called, ie mythically, most-vulnerable-and-marginalised segment of society behaves when it receives the answer NO.
Telling violent, emotionally brittle, psychologically unstable, delusional and malignantly narcissistic male humans NO in response to their demands for external validation or worship as the collective Neo-Messiah for The Universe demonstrates the hyper-masculinity, sexism, and anti-gay thought driving the gender movement.
Evolutionary sexism, evolutionary disgust at same sex attraction, and a dualistic conception of the human being have combined to enable transgenderism to flourish unabated, and to even be embedded into law.
Genderism is about male humans and not a thing created by and for male humans to advance themselves. We cannot address male violence against women, we cannot address transgender terrorism, we cannot address the chemical castration and sterilisation of psychologically distressed, without realising that gender harms all human beings. First of all, we need to shed the lies. We need to shed the vocabulary of lies we have been forced to use. We need to know just what we are speaking of and call it that. This requires knowledge of reality and moral courage to stand with truth when that will get you canceled.
Sexism never went away. Female people remain collateral for society. We remain the carriers of lusts and desires and hopes and hatred of society. We remain socially what we are reproductively to humanity—vessels. How could we ever not be? Physiology confines us. Disgust at same sex attraction never went away either, and transgenderism highlights just how easy it is for these two evolutionary forms of loathing to re-emerge in new ghastly ways as society progresses through the ages.
I have started a Facebook page for my artist brand where I will make posts related to my art practise, my studio, my shoppe and my emerging illustration business. Please hop over and like my page. I recently illustrated a fabulous essay for Quillette, please head over and read Angus Fox. I’m building a Shopify site to connect with the FB site and eventually there will be an associated Instagram account to follow. The name and look of this newsletter will likely eventually change to align with the new brand but it will still be the same old me.
